Wind Industry Safety Culture

VDMA Power Systems

The Working Group Wind Industry Safety Culture is an international initiative of the wind turbine manufacturers Adwen, Enercon, GE, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energies, Nordex Acciona, Senvion and Vestas together with their subcontractors and suppliers. Under the umbrella of the Mechanical Engineering Industry Association VDMA Power Systems, this initiative is targeting to implement an industry wide safety culture for the wind industry to become a safer place to work.

"Safety is not only our number one priority in the way we work but safety must be our value and treated as such. Everyone who works in the wind business must come to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home to their families in good health at the end of every workday", Andreas von Bobart, Member of the Board, VDMA Power Systems and Managing Director, GE Wind Energy.
